1. Light Weight and Portable Payment System (LPSS) : RBI says (LPSS ) will operate on minimalistic hardware and software on ‘need basis’. It is called ‘ bunker ‘ equivalent of digital payments and works anywhere with bare minimum staff during natural calamities or war. The technology and infrastructure are independent of the UPI ,NEFT and RTGS system.This system ensures almost zero down time of the payment and uninterrupted functioning of essential payment services . This is important to keep the economy stable. The present system depends on complex wired networks with the support of advance IT Infrastructure . But during natural calamities and war the infrastructure may get disturbed . So it is better to be prepared to face such volatile situation .
2. Tanzania has moved it’s capital : Based on a public referendum 50 years ago Tanzania has shifted its capital to Dodoma from Darbar Es Salaam. It has shifted it’s parliament in 2017 . The presidential office was inaugurated in May 2023 in Dodoma .The reason for relocation are over crowding and strain on infrastructure of Dar Es Salaam , uneven development , accessibility and national unity as central location of Capital helps in bringing national unity and inclusiveness . The difficulties faced by Dodoma are developing transport system, housing board, water supply for government workers and residence .
3. World food safety day 2023 : It is observed on June 7 every year . WHO and Food and Agreeculture organization (FAO ) founded in 2018. It is to ensure food safety standards and to safe guard consumers from foodborne diseases. Producers ,consumers and Governments are responsible to ensure food safety . One in ten illness is due to contaminated food in India .Food Safety and Standards Authority of (Indan Fssai ) has laid down food standard in India. Tamper proof packaging and quality , labelling guidelines with nutrition information like sugar , trans fat, calories all to be mentioned. Shelf life for safety is important mandate .
